I don't know about you guys, but I'm more or less at a loss on this game. It just seems as if the Guitar Hero series has hit a but of a snag, and is suffering an identity crisis. I guess it's to be expected given how Guitar Hero ripped off Guitar Freaks, and Harmonix succeeded from the Guitar Hero in the creation of it's new found country Rock Band. Having done so, it seems Guitar Hero was left to gather the shattered childhood memories, remembering the good times in Guitar Hero II before it's new foster parents arrived to throughly abuse the poor *******. Perhaps that was a bit harsh, but what do you expect when you have a series being forced to be something it's not?
Ok, all that aside, there's tons of goodies and toys thrown into World Tour that make it fun for just about anyone who plays. Being able to create your own character is a nice feature, though I have to question why I can't make my character have one of those freakish long beards like the guys in ZZ Top. The song creation tools seem to have a good amount of flexibility in the creation of songs, as a matter of fact I have a few ideas that I plan on creating if I can figure out the best way of making it sound as awesome as it does in my head. Also, the Mii Freestyle mode is arguably what Wii Music should have been. Anyway, I'm still toying around and learning the ropes a bit. Still ****ing hate Midori, but I find it ****ing funny as **** when someone selects her to be vocalist for "On The Road Again". I mean, I never knew she was a he. I know she isn't, but it would explain everything if Midori really was a guy.
Now that I think it, I'm fairly sure I just gave some hopeless Midori fan a shivering thought just now. Serves them right for favoring such a [cut due to content].
Compared to Rock Band 2, the track list is awful. The only song it has going for it is One Armed Scissor, the rest is either on RB 2 or from pre-90s. That said, the drums look miles better than Rock Band's and once they sort out the instruments then I'm planning on buying the GH band set and the RB 2 game.
