Brilliant. Can't wait to try playing this.
Interested to know what ships people will use when they play through. :)
I love it, but I suck so much at it. I've even been trying to use cheap ships. So far I've got Swashmebuckle's stage...

Okay guys... it's definitely a challenge, huh? The ship is in the works, and will be posted shortly. It makes picking up the weapons much easier, and will have enough firepower to tackle this beast on Pilot. The contributors should start making comments here soon, and everyone should thank Gryzor profusely for all the work he put into both his own boss (just wait 'til you see it!) and tuning the whole level and making it as awesome and cohesive as it is.
I got to Gryzor's boss (incredible), and it killed me in the most hilarious way possible. They're all great, but Swash's is my favorite. (Gryzor's is the last, right?)

Here's official ship #1: Gryzor's Jetkid.

It fits with the powerups, and you'll recognize it from the level artwork, too. I made one small adjustment, bumping up its rate of fire slightly to give us a fighting chance. We intended the level to be played on Pilot, but so far it's kicking my butt!
So five of us worked together on this level, building our bosses and deciding on ground rules, adding to the level and passing it along via the game's built-in wifi option and our Wii friend codes. Thanks Budcat for making it possible! Gryzor did all the extra artwork and tuning, which was amazing. DL51 made the high score table. Swashmebuckle composed his own boss background music, and I dare you to tell the difference between his music and something made professionally to be included in the game!
It was an honor and a pleasure and a BLAST WORKing with these guys; I hope to do it again sometime, and hope this level may inspire more people to try out the idea of collaborating. Here's hoping also for an EU release sometime soon. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Glad to see it is finally finished

Yay! Thanks guys... I'm glad it's done, too (whew.)
The Rookie ship and my personal weapon of choice (JetBoy) will be a little late as I'm at my parents' for the holiday. :P
Some notes, details:
1st. MMLROX (by Mr. MartinLee)2nd. BlugLord (by DL51)3nd. Xero 2.0 (by Xerokyzer, tweakified by me)- it's Railgun is probably the most dangerous and unpredictable attack here; but there is a brief warning before it activates, so just pay attention and you'll be ok. :)4th. Disco Doom (by Swashmebuckle)5th. ????? (by me) - Don't worry if you're low on lives by the time you reach him, there is a secret way to get a 1up on this fight!
Remember, this is only the first - we really hope to do more of these in the future. MEGALEVEL is a community project and ALL serious Blast Workers are welcome to participate and contribute their work!
Having now played it, all I can say is... WOW. Brilliant might be an understatement. :)
Congrats to everyone who worked to pull it off - your efforts are much appreciated.
Xero's railgun is making me insane. It kills me more than anything else in the level. Which is saying something because I've been killed by the powerup remover and the powerups.
I'm glad to hear more, and I'm glad to hear that it's an open project. I think this has a lot of potential, especially with this community.
That reminds me, this has to be one of the nicest communities I've ever seen. There's a lot of talent, everybody's willing to help out, and nobody's an elitist.
This level will smack you. Smack you so hard.
Great level Blast Workers! Like MML said, it was an honor to collaborate with you guys.
Everybody else: Enjoy getting clobbered by the 2008 All Stars (hehe), and join them next time around! Special thanks as always to Budcat for the awesome game!

I did it! Beat the level on Rookie, and found Gryzor's secret 1UP... that'll teach bosses to trash-talk me... now for Pilot!

I love swashes chunk of greatness.
I just finished this level on pilot, whew, took me awhile, great job everyone. If you ever intend to do another one, just let me know, I would be glad to help in anyway.

Good job finishing Pilot... I've made it to swashmebuckle's section on Pilot once so far... I could take any of the bosses individually, but in the Rush my nerves get to me and I make some mistake or another... I still play this every time I turn on the game, just in case it's the time I actually beat it!
if you do my jet you will not lose

I may be a little late commenting but very nice job. I've played this about 5 times and can never get pass the three heads of Gryzor's boss. If you are going to do another one I would be pleased to help.
This is great, I almost beat it on pilot with jetkid, but i died... anyways if youre planning to make another one, ill be more than happy to contribute almost all of my free time to help.
I just bought this game, and this is exactly the type of thing I was hoping for! Good job everyone! ^_^
(I haven't even touched the 'actual' game yet, ha ha.)

Nah, haven't seen those guys in forever.. where'd they go? >_>
I just got the idea from Spazer's 'credits' level, and MML helped me get the ball rolling with a thread over at gamespot. A couple more people agreed to contribute their stuff and viola! Basically, it's 5 bosses (plus intros) by 5 Blast Works makers.
The 'Allstars' thing is just something I came up with at the last minute to spice it up a bit. Don't worry, we're planning to do another one sometime this year. Anyone who contributes will be considered a member anyways. :)
perhaps Gryzor: you could do a boss bash of all your levels?
